Kim Boekbinder is on a mission to make an album that's literally out of this world. if you like space, if you like good pop then you need to back this album via Kickstarter. The pink haired wannabe astro-pop princess even has genuine science dudes on board, including an astronomer, a lunar professional and real life astronauts.
You might not have heard of the enigmatically named IamamIwhoami- I hadn't until singer Mary Epworth told me about them. Like many other fans, she'd been following the band's mysterious series of video releases and finally got to see them perform at their first UK gig at the Southbank Centre earlier this month.
Rising songstress Kyla La Grange has released a gorgeous new video for her track 'Been Better'. It makes me want a pet wolf. (Game of Thrones fans will understand). It also reminds me of the days when we had someone's pet snake roaming around Run-Riot HQ. Very glad those days are gone.

Empress Stah in Space is part of an ongoing project with a long-term ambition; to create a performance in outer space. The project is Directed by Ron Athey, with Sound Accompaniment including original tracks by electro clash super star Peaches and Punk Poet Lydia Lunch. Conceived and performed by Empress Stah. Commissioned for the SPILL Festival of Performance.
Robert Redford explains why he's joining Eve Ensler's One Billion Rising campaign, which launches today and aims to encourage people around the world to rise up and take action to end violence against women and girls. The deadline for justice is V Day, 14 February 2013. You can see more videos by celebrities like Ruby Wax, Jane Fonda, Rosario Dawson supporting the cause on The Guardian website.
Any of you who read my ramblings elsewhere will know that I have a small obsession with mermaids. They've had a fair bit of press lately, what with Lady Gaga and Katy Perry both dressing up as mermaids, and most recently US government officials releasing a statement declaring that they definitely don't exist ( and I had such hopes for Obama..).
