Personal Brief
Lauren is a Brixton-based freelance journalist who grew up in London, Singapore, Rome, Brussels and Paris. After a brief spell selling shots in a rasta bar in Guanajuato, Mexico, she started her journalism career at the London Lite way back in, erm, 2008. There have since been spells at MailOnline, South London Press, Scout London, Theatre Guide London and The Stage.
Lauren loves all things cultural but has a particular obsession with theatre. She goes up to Edinburgh every August with The Stage where she reviews around 70 plays a year as well as judging the newspaper's annual acting competition.
Artists on your radar, shout them out!
The artists I'm most looking forward to seeing at Edinburgh this year are Little Bulb, Ontroerend Goed, Rob Drummond, Junction 25, Daniel Bye, Action Hero, Look Left Look Right and Paper Birds.
Which is your number one location - and what's it best for?
Brockwell Park. It's best for EVERYTHING (if you like surprise views of London, swimming in a freezing lido, having picnics and being chucked out before it gets dark).
'Getting creative', what's it all about?
Wowzers. I don't know yet.
Your Life, Right Now - what's the soundtrack?
The voice of Larry David from Curb Your Enthusiasm.
What is your idea of a jolly good time?
Sitting in the sunshine with a bunch of friends, food, drink and the promise of something exciting to do in the evening.
What happened the last time you were a complete disgrace?
No comment (but there were almost certainly tears involved).
