The Thames Festival brings us a stellar line-up of new musicians, all for free.
The line-up on the 10th of September features some real favourites of mine- check out The Moulettes' music video below.
Acts include:
Misty Miller
Misty started writing songs at the age of 8, now 16 and a self-taught uke-player extraordinaire, she released her first album earlier this year.
The Moulettes
Their entrancing combination of strings and the celestial, wind and weirdness, rhythm and murder has led to comparisons with the the Unthanks, Tom Waits and Shostakovitch.
Jesca Hoop
Unfurling acoustic songs that allow Jesca's ravishing vocal talents and rare emotional force to truly soar, drawing listeners in and nestling close as she hypnotises.
Rory McLeod & The Familiar Strangers
A modern travelling troubadour using tap shoes, acappella, harmonica, guitar, trombone, spoons, finger cymbals, bandorea, djembe and more!
Mowgli Emcee
Poet-artist-social critic, Mowgli is one of this country's most unique and talented lyricists.
ESKA
Hers is music that walks a fine tightrope, the slightest breath enough to unsettle the serenity it so effortlessly conjures.
Wara Afrikan Boy
A protégé of global superstar M.I.A. and writer of 'One day I went to Lidl', Afrikan Boy has opened for Prince and Bjork.
Soothsayers with special guest Dele Sosimi
A mystical journey through reggae, Afro-beat, dub and funk, characterised by big vocal choruses, compelling horn breaks and deep rhythms.
