As part of BFI’s season of special events to celebrate black screen talent, catch one of the most iconic films of the 1990s with Spike Lee’s Malcolm X.

Centred around the life of Afro-American activist Malcolm X, Spike Lee’s biographical drama follows the extraordinary life of the Malcolm X’s life as a criminal, his incarceration, his conversion to Islam and his eventual assassination in 1965.

Played by an Oscar-nominated Denzel Washington, this 1992 biopic is critically acclaimed for creating a three-dimensional portrait of an icon, activist and powerful orator who left a legacy of self-determination and racial pride.

Screenings take place on Tuesday 18th October at 18:30 and Saturday 22nd October at 18:30
