Interactive artworks and performances exploring the theme 'Zeitgeist: From digital to Post-digital', as part of London Design Festival 2011.

For all the artists + designers out there interested in #innovation, from #augmentedreality to #socialmediaart, there are some treats in store for you.

This year's Alpha-ville Innovation Space is located in Netil House’s warehouse exhibition space, in the very heart of Hackney. It will house a curated exhibition of installations and interactive artworks, meet-ups, talks, cutting edge AV performances, open labs, happenings and web experiments.

As well as at the Innovation Space, Alpha-ville are running satellite festival events and workshops at Space Studios on Mare street, Hackney.

The award-winning Hackney Podcast invites you to test their new smartphone app, Hackney Hear. Walking along through London Fields and along Broadway Market, Hackney Hear will score your journey with stories, music and poetry - whilst eavesdropping on conversations from all walks of life - recorded on location and triggered by the GPS on your mobile phone. Pick up the app at the Innovation Space.
Combining online performance and interactive installation, Man Bartlett will invite visitors to the Digital Design Festival at Victoria & Albert Museum and the Alpha-ville Festival at Netil House to leave their mark in response to the question, “Where are you from?” This component of Grey Matter will seek to highlight similarities and differences in the way that “East” and “West” London audiences respond to the open-ended question they are asked, simply by the way in which they choose to leave their mark. Use Twitter hashtag #greymatter to take part.
