Presenting an exclusive night with Polish electro-acoustic composer Jacaszek, Norwegian musician Svarte Greiner who is best known as one half of the duo Deaf Center, and UK artist Old Apparatus.
Jacaszek will play with Ignacy Wisniewski (harpsichord) and Andrzej Wojciechowski (clarinet), Svarte Greiner will present a Live AV performance and Old Apparatus will perform a live AV show.
Jacaszek is a polish electroacoustic musician and producer. He is the latest in a tradition of Eastern Europeans exploring the reaches of sentimentality in classical music. Clearly influenced by the liturgical compositions of Henryk Gorecki or John Tavener, with a healthy pinch of Angelo Badalamenti’s mood-setting soundscapes, Jacaszek manages to find his own niche somewhere between Murcof and Francois Tetaz’s indispensible score for ‘Wolf Creek’ – somewhere dark and mysterious but ultimately beautifully rewarding and moving.
Best known as one half of the delicious duo Deaf Center, Erik K. Skodvin, AKA Svarte Greiner, is one of Norway’s most treasured sons and founder of the prestigious record label Miamash. Greiner has performed in some of the most important festival around the world including Unsound in New York, Transmediale in Berlin, BEMF in Brussels.
