A collective event for World Aids Day to raise money for children affected by HIV / AIDS, at the fantastic MC Motors venue.
The Dalston massive have pooled their creative contacts and resources to put on a day of fundraising mayhem, including a fashion show hosted by local trans - supermodels Jonny Woo and James Jeanette and the cream of the East End’s fashion designers. This will be followed by an Auction hosted by Jonny Woo where you get to bid for the clothing fresh off the catwalk. We are lucky to have the talents of mz Chloe Kerman of Garage magazine styling and co-ordinating the show. Local designers giving to the event include James Long, Louise Gray, Marios Schwab, Noel Stewart, Piers Atkinson and a stellar line up of other Dalston based designers. Watch the list grow.
SILENT AUCTIONS will be taking place during the event of some incredible lots, such as art tees and prizes donated by local businesses.
ART TEES: The Dalston Massive with the help of the fabulous Adam Waymouth have been banging on the studio doors of Hackney’s greatest artists asking them to hand-paint/print/perform on a plain white T-shirt based on the sentence ‘My friend went to Dalston and all I got was this lousy T-Shirt’. So far we have asked Grayson Perry, Jake and Dino Chapman, Sarah Lucas, Wolfgang Tilmans, Conrad Shawcross, Idris Khan, Annie Morris, Raqib Shaw, Philippa Horan, Rebecca Warren, Nathaniel Mellors, Angela Federico, Victoria Sin and many more.
Other auction lots include prizes generously donated by LOCAL BUSINESSES, with meals and drinks and art and services to be won. From a long weekend on an Italian vineyard to a meal for 2, to the perfect Christmas present for your Aunties, they’re expecting donations from: Vogue Fabrics, Dalston Superstore, A little of What you Fancy, Unpackaged, Sweet Thursday, The Scolt Head, Tina we Salute You, Mangal2, Sfuso Wine, Dukes Brew and Que, Parrots and Pelicans, HUH, Ruby’s , The Print Room, Gujarati Rasoi, Say Cheese.
They are also priming up local celebs for a DATE IN DALSTON where the public can bid on a date with a celebrity at a location in Dalston.
Pizza with Paloma Faith, a slice will be twice as nice.
Music and performances throughout the day from local DJs, musicians and performers including Dan Beaumont and Bright Light Bright Light.
The FAIR will consist of stalls of all sorts of shapes, sizes, colours and smells, with all the proceeds going to the charity.
