2018 marks 100 years since the Representation of the People Act, which granted some women the right to vote for the first time in British parliamentary elections. We celebrate women in the arts with a vibrant mix of art, music, film, drop in workshops, pop up talks and street food.

See DJs Nabihah Iqbal (formerly Throwing Shade), Lil C, Anz and Tone in the South Tanks. They will be accompanied by ground-breaking visuals made by or starring women of colour from Ifama and focused on black suffragette Ida B. Wells.

Join Frances Morris, Tate Modern’s Director, and gal-dem's founder Liv Little for a discussion about women artists and their impact at Tate, playfully presented on one of the swings from the Hyundai Commission: Superflex – One Two Three Swing!

Feministo Creations

Feminist group Sisters Uncut take direct action for domestic violence services. Join them to cut, colour, debate and create banners and artworks to inspire your own action and activism.
Feminist Collage.

Create collages inspired by artists whose work supported the suffrage movement and explore the feminist issues that matter to you today as we celebrate Vote 100. This fun and colourful workshop is brought to you by Tate’s Library and Archive Department.

Pillow Talk

Get comfy on one of 60 handcrafted pillows made by South London Women Artists. Explore the pillows’ themes with a mobile library from the Women’s Art Library brimming with reading material to inspire your imagination.

REPRESENT! at Tate Exchange

Join Stance Podcast to celebrate the disruptive power of women in art. Create a Guerrilla Girls-inspired lino print, join drawing sessions to reclaim narratives of British Muslim women, recreate iconic Renaissance paintings using your selfies with Camgirls Project, enjoy nail art with Jagoda & Art Against Knives. Plus sit in on a live Clove x Stance Podcast recording, enjoy DJs, poetry and performances.

Step into the WITCiH Salon, a platform hosted by musician, artist and co-founder Bishi dedicated to celebrating women working at the intersection of creative technology, art and science. Expect performances, music and live coding from Miri Kat, Lia Mice and Zarah Hussain.

Drop in for a free projection of this powerful short film from the Tate collection. The work features performance with ritualistic associations connected to Catholic and Afro-Caribbean traditions. Please note this film contains nudity.
