Celebrate the festivals 20th anniversary with Caught by the River, hosted by Writer and Culture Show presenter Michael Smith. The party will feature contributing authors playing their fave records!

The party is hosted by the lovely people behind the website Caught by the River.

Caught by the River began in summer 2007 as a website based solely on a handful of passions shared by the people behind it. Angling, music, books, films, nature and pubs to name a few. After two summers at the Port Eliot Festival and several packed out Caught by the River Social Club events, the site’s popularity has grown and increasingly spirals into unchartered territory. Now it encompasses everything from watching birds and urban rambling to poetry, art and gardening. With the list of contributors growing by the day, these guys somehow manage to join the dots between Ian Sinclair and Andrew Weatherall, Bill Drummond and Chris Yates. Their stage at this years Port Eliot festival managed to take in talks on everything from Land Art to the British underground music press. Receptive audiences listened to country rock and countryside talk. The CBTR boat party will feature contributing authors playing their favourite records accompanied by readings from the latest anthology, On Nature: Unexpected Ramblings on the British Countryside. Writer and Culture Show presenter Michael Smith will also be reading a specially commissioned piece in honour of the 20th anniversary of the festival.
