Welcome to Dalston… Not just the land of plenty, but the Land of Kings. Expect only the finest DJs, musicians, artists & collectives. With wristband & map in hand, come, take a stomp around Dalston.

28 & 29 April.

The 2011 programme will feature blistering live shows from acts such as Ghostpoet, Bleeding Heart Narrative, Brass Roots, Django Django, Visions of Trees and Gwilym Gold.  Meanwhile, DJ sets from the likes of Romy XX, Idjut Boys, Rory Phillips, James Yuill, Shut Up & Dance and Hannah Holland see E8 retain its crown as the best place for big nights in little basements.  Expect everything from electro-disco rave-ups to bass-heavy vibes via locally-sourced showcases courtesy of Moshi Moshi, Girlcore, Say Yes, Batty Bass, Brownswood and Clash Magazine.

Backing up a roster of royally good music will be an ever-expanding arts programme, boasting special commissions and exhibits by some of the area’s finest. Hackney Film Festival curates a night of shorts whilst warehouse-theatre specialists Stoke Newington International Airport present a wedding-inspired cabaret, including Kate Middleton striptease by international burlesque star Agent Lynch. Elsewhere, a post-war bunker becomes the location for “Prince William Hill” – an interactive games parlour and, around another corner, the WI’s hippest incarnation, Dalston Darlings give a modern twist to all things English.

Peckish? Guests will be able to dine on a regal banquet laid on by a host of carefully selected concessions as well as special discounts in local Turkish restaurants for festival-goers.  Or can stop off for brew in London Fields Radio’s pop-up studio/cafe
The festival wristband will grant access to some of Dalston’s best-loved venues, including the RIO Cinema, Arcola Theatre, Vortex Jazz Club, The Alibi, The Nest and Moustache Bar alongside a host of secret hideaways to be found.
