The Experimental Food Society Spectacular is the UK’s first ever annual culinary arts exhibition and a showcase of its most pioneering gastronomic artists.
This two day exhibition features an awe inspiring assemblage of butter sculptors, food landscape artists, food magicians, cake artists, food futurologists, conceptual food artists and food model-makers to name a few.
Featuring interactive installations, exhibitions, demonstrations, samplings and talks, the Experimental Food Society Spectacular offers guests a sensory feast in which they can meet these pioneering foodies first hand, marvel at their creations, take part in one of the interactive exhibits, sample and eat edible art in addition to experimental elixirs, watch some of the artists as they create their works on site, listen to a talk, purchase books and foodie items and pick up tips on how to get experimental in the kitchen.

HAVE YOUR CAKE AND EAT IT by ANDREW STELLITANO
Andrew Stellitano (Food Artist) is teaming up with augmented reality experts Holition to create a never ending cake. Having rendered a computer mediated, virtual documentation of the exhibited cake, the tablet based augmented reality will replace the ephemeral piece as visitors take a bite.
CAKE EXPLOSIONS by BOMPAS & PARR in collaboration with THE CURIOUS CONFECTIONER
In a typically eye catching performance, Bompas & Parr (Architectural Foodsmiths & Jellymongers) will be sending up teatime in an explosive manner, filling The Curious Confectioner¹s (Creator of Edible Art) stunning, cake based creations with powerful explosives and detonating them at 4pm each day at the Experimental Food Society Spectacular exhibition.
EDIBLE WEAPONRY by KYLE BEAN
Kyle Bean (artist who works with food) will be unveiling a series of weapons made from everyday food stuffs including jelly grenades and toast knuckle dusters.
HISTORICAL LIQUOR by THE ROBIN COLLECTIVE
The Robin Collective (Experiential Food Artists) will be producing and selling a range of bitters made from history itself. Extracting moisture from the walls of some of Britain¹s most iconic figures homes, offices and hangouts and infusing it into the bitters, each 50ml dropper bottle will be accompanied by a cocktail suggestion that corresponds to the British Icon. Have your taste buds and maybe even your morals titillated, as you take a sip from the past.
EXPERIMENTAL FOOD SOCIETY SPECTACULAR 2012 BRITISH ICON THEMED BANQUET
At the Cook Book Café at Intercontinental London Park Lane on Monday 19 November (7-11pm) Guests can also book tickets for the British Icon themed banquet at which 120 diners will partake in a unique and surreal multi-sensory dining experience inspired by all that is very great about Britain. A five-course menu designed by the Experimental Food Society in collaboration with Paul Bates, Head Chef at the Cook Book Cafe at Intercontinental London Park Lane, the banquet will be accompanied by a range of interactive food related experiences as well as a tailored soundtrack courtesy of The Broken Hearts. ICE CREAM POTTERY by CHARLIE HARRY FRANCIS Charlie Harry Francis (Ice Cream Experimentalist) will be showcasing his liquid nitrogen buggy (the world¹s first), spinning a potters wheel and whipping up ice cream pottery for diners
EXPERIMENTAL FOOD SOCIETY SPECTACULAR 2012 TALK
At the Victoria & Albert Museum on Friday 23 November (6.30-9.00pm)
The Experimental Food Society Spectacular will culminate with a talk at the Victoria and Albert Museum as part of the V&A Connects series titled British Food Artistry at which the Experimental Food Society will take guests through some of the works of art unveiled at the Spectacular and the processes undertaken to create them, in addition to discussing what it means to be a British food artist today. Accompanied by video footage and photography, the tickets that are free of charge, include Experimental Food Society canapés and two complimentary glasses of wine.
