Every last Tuesday meet other Brautiganites to talk about one of his novels. It won't be like a traditional book club. It will be special. If you love Brautigan you are special too.

The brand new monthly

Brautigan Book Club

will meet on Tuesday 27th March,

you'll have read the book but we won't sit in a circle and talk about reflexive-narrative.

We hope you will meet other Brautiganites.
There will also be side shows, slide shows and workshops.

This month we feature what is probably Brautigan’s most well known and widely available book,

Trout Fishing in America.

Guest speaker, writer and illustrator

Fuchsia Voremberg,

will be making a mysterious presentation about what she calls her  ‘Kool-Aid Conspiracy Theory’,

and there’ll be brand new live music by

stephenmcaines

plus other delights.

We welcome any and all willing participants.

If you feel that you might have something special to present please do not hesitate to email  saltpeter.

"Is it about trout fishing? No. Yes. No. It is and it isn’t. The book is really surreal. At one point one character says to another, “Pardon me, I thought you were a river.”  That should give you an idea.

Clever usually bugs me, if it’s clever for clever’s sake, if it doesn’t get to something deeper. What distinguishes Brautigan is that, despite this goofy sensibility and his wit, I always feel this clear-eyed moral vision that I can trust." – Jonathan Evison

“Brautigan is good for you” - Bruce Cook, The National Observer
