Join London-based journalist, broadcaster and DJ Kate Hutchinson as she leads a panel of music-activists in a discussion about the rave scene in 90s Belgrade.
Examining the role music played in politicising youth culture during the presidency of Slobodan Milošević, Kate Hutchinson will be joined by the Serbian DJ and music journalist, Tijana T; acclaimed music critic and programme editor of Dom omladine Beograda Cultural Center and EXIT Festival’s Main Stage, Dragan Ambrozic; and co-founder of the independent Belgrade-based radio station B92, Gordan Paunovic.
Why not arrive earlier and catch extracts of influential mixes and a sound installation of recordings from Ö1 Kunstradio & B92 radio samples, which will give you a flavour of the Serbian 1990s subculture, in IWM London’s atrium at 12:00 and 14:00.
