Our lives are filled with mediated experience, and the texture of our world is changing as rapidly now as at any time in history thanks to the force of technology.

 Yet we have little time in our life to pause and consider these changes. With over half of humanity now connected to the Internet, and over half of many of our waking hours spent using media of some kind, this class asks us to take a step back and assess the nature of the roles technology plays in our lives.

Join us for an evening exploring the nature of the digital 21st century. We will be delving into some startling data – but also asking what digital technology means for our sense of self and each other, for our belief in originality and self-expression, for our ability to empathise with others as well as simply express ourselves.
