Singer VV Brown joins musician Katie Melua and DJ Goldierocks for a debate, chaired by former NME editor Krissi Murison, about women’s place in the music industry.
The brilliant 'Other Club' host this long overdue conversation.
Singer-songwriter Brown, recently returned to the U.K with a new album Samson and Delilah. Known for her rockabilly sound, since her first album Travelling Like The Light in 2009, she’s now a producer, record label owner, model, presenter and the CEO of ethical fashion brand VVVintage collection. Katie Melua was born in Georgia, raised in Belfast and Surrey. A graduate from the BRIT school and accomplished musician, in 2006 she was the United Kingdom’s best-selling female artist and Europe’s highest selling European female artist.
DJ Goldierocks aka Sam Hall is an international DJ and broadcaster. She hosts her own weekly international radio show ‘The Selector’, which hits the airwaves in 39 countries. The newest voice of Radio 1, she performed a 90 minute set at the opening of London’s 2012 Paralympic Games. The Evening Standard said “she could be the most important woman in pop”.
Krissi Murison became the first female editor of NME in 2009. Having been a rock journalist for (amongst others) Nylon magazine, she is now the Associate Editor of The Sunday Times Magazine.
Location: The Other Club is currently on the first floor in Kingly Court, off Carnaby Street.
