This talk explores the idea of the Pre-Raphaelites as a pioneering avant-garde group, whose disrespectful, anti-establishment campaign brought new life to British art.
Under discussion will be the Pre-Raphaelites’ interest in the new technology of photography, their engagement with radical politics and their project of seeing the world afresh.
Followed by a private view of the exhibition, Pre-Raphaelites: Victorian Avant-Garde.
