Not the kind of history lesson you got at school- everything's more interesting when accompanies by a good cocktail...

After an introductory drink on arrival, ex-bartender, drinks anorak and creator of Kamm & Sons Ginseng Spirit will be giving an informal talk on the first uses of alcohol in medicinal practice, talking of Hippocrates’ herbal wines, the start of Alchemy and the birth of tinctures and bitters. Alex will explain why spirits were known as the ‘Water of Life’, covering the start of modern pharmacy, cocktail culture and today’s perspective on the health benefits of moderate alcohol consumption.

Alex will also explain about how and why he went off alone to create his own brand of alcohol after having worked for the biggest brands in the drinks industry…and of course there will be lots of things to try along the way!
