Technology, war, and the current state of our planet explored through physical, movement led theatre. For those who rage against apathy.

First Draft is a play that explores a fast-paced world in contrast to a future world that exists in a protection unit far away from the Earth’s surface. Inspired by conversations about war and E.M. Forster’s The Machine Stops, First Draft is an eclectic play of many voices, taking us on a journey from a morning bicycle ride to a protection unit after an environmental disaster.

The play takes its audience through a multitude of situations involving two actors playing over ten characters.  From a cocktail bar playing Miles Davis to a memory laboratory in the future, First Draft takes us on a journey and playfully jostles us to wake up.

Open Heart Surgery Theatre is a new London-based physical theatre company made up of two Canadian theatre artists who are interested in making international work.  OHS aims to invigorate its audiences with relevant theatre, using an interdisciplinary approach to theatre making; merging film, sound, and movement with the aim of creating original theatre that can speak to everyone.

Part of Camden Fringe, a festival that aims to give anyone the chance to perform and showcase their talents, from very experienced performers and companies to ambitious newcomers.

21st- 23rd August, 7pm, Camden People’s Theatre
