In collaboration with the Newport art activists, Bosch, and with the guidance of Andre Stitt, the Clarks developed a series of performances in public spaces that now make up a theatre show.

Smash It Up is a destructive plea for some cultural conservationism. It is a challenging demand for equality, for hope, greater creative freedom and, beyond all, an understanding and nurturing of the creative imagination. In your hometown a symbol of equality, justice and freedom has been destroyed; a piece of art that stood for everything you know to be right. Its destruction makes way for a privately guarded shopping centre. What do you do? If you are Mr and Mrs Clark, you start a campaign. ‘A beautifully convulsive mix of contempt, anger, passion and hope’ The Scotsman ‘A gloriously messy collision of activism and art’ The Herald Shortlisted for an Amnesty Freedom of Expression Award 2015 Running Time: 60 mins Age Recommendation: 14+
