An evening of incredible acoustic and stripped-down live music sessions in the stunning setting of Islington’s Union Chapel.
Curated and hosted by Lauren Laverne, this unique event offers an eclectic night of entertainment – live music, DJs, comedy, poetry, literary readings – all with a Christmas flavour, plus short films showing Save the Children's work in the UK and overseas. Just announced the mighty headline act – Spiritualized – and the amazing Band of Skulls, who'll both be joining the line up alongside Fyfe Dangerfield, Kodaline, Josh Kumra and Summer Camp to perform intimate, acoustic sets. More great acts will be revealed in the coming weeks.
Hosted by BBC 6 Music presenter, Lauren Laverne, the line up also includes best-selling author Caitlin Moran, writer/broadcaster Stuart Maconie and The Thick of It/Mock the Week’s Chris Addison performing Christmas-themed readings, plus stand-up from Lee Nelson.
And as it's Christmas Jumper Day on 14 December, they're asking everyone to wear a festive sweater.
Christmas Tree Sessions supports Save the Children’s No Child Born To Die campaign. Millions of children around the world are denied the kind of childhood they deserve. Every day, they wake up to a world of hunger, disease and poverty. Support of the Christmas Tree Sessions will help us give more children the nutritious food they need and help them fight killer diseases and keep them safe. This Christmas, let's help more children wake up to a bright future.
