The Power of One is a showcase for solo performers, launching on 29th March with a veritable feast of live music at The Courtyard Theatre in Hoxton.

For the inaugural event, three acts will take to the stage:

John Langan, the man behind folk-ravers The Langan Band, left home in Ayrshire at 16 to pursue a life of musical inspiration. By now that means he’s a walking encyclopedia of original and traditional music drawn from a wealth of travel with his trusty guitar and cajon on his back.

Nina Harries’ startling vocal abilities are matched with the experimental sounds she draws from her double bass- a class act with an operatic and comedic groove.

Randolph Matthews fell in love with music when he was seven years old, with two tape recorders in his bedroom to record his mum singing downstairs, while he layered up voices and beats upstairs. His initial foray into percussion might go to explain his skill at beatboxing- but Randolph is first and foremost a live vocalist, performer and lyricist. ……………………………………………………………………………………….
