Join artist Ansuman Biswas for a collective live art experience. Whatever age or ability, drop in to The Old Church and sing together, in this 24 hour freestyle community performance.
1pm 19th March – 1pm 20th March.
Internationally renowned local artist Ansuman Biswas has performed with Bjork, spent 10 days in a black box with only water, and created a musical in a high security prison. This March he stays home in Stoke Newington and invites us all to take part in a collective live art experience. Ansuman will also be leading three free workshops, to explain more about the thinking behind the project, and to get us playing together with our voices.
Ansuman writes: "‘Kite’ will be a 24 hour collaborative effort. We will join our breaths together to keep a sound continuously aloft on the breeze. Anyone is welcome – any age, any faith, any level of experience – to lend their voice to the fabric of the collective and be lifted up by the wind that passes through Stoke Newington. Together we will create melodies that swoop and hang in the buoyant atmosphere, the strings of an Aeolian harp tethering us to the old church as we dance in the sky".
