Amazing radio showcase four bright young things in the gorgeous setting of the Elgar Room.
Nadine's voice blends the resonance and smoky soul of her heroes Julie London and Billie Holliday, with a shape-shifting melodic intensity gleaned from the Hindu Ghazals sung by her father. The result is a balance of poise and mournful passion which is all the more striking for the subtlety Shah employs to control it. Nadine has been a regular visitor to Amazing Radio over the last twelve months and we can't wait to have her headline our show.
This Essex band first arrived on our radar back in 2011 when they uploaded a track called 'Trees' to amazingtunes.com. We booked them for an Amazing Live night at The Bull & Gate last year, which proved to be one the undoubted highlights of our 2012 residency at the Kentish Town venue. Their new single 'Upon The North' is out at the end of February.
Reuben's music is often described as being beautiful and bleak in equal measure. As well as being wonderfully intimate, the seven tracks on his 'Clutch' EP are indicative of a great songwriting talent, combining subtle melodies and harmonies with his heartfelt approach to storytelling.
Kerry's a Cambridgeshire singer-songwriter who'll be opening the gig for us on 4th March. The lead track from her new EP is called ‘Charlston Town’, featuring a gorgeous combination of a mandolin being played backwards, alongside some percussion which she made by hitting steal bells and then sampling them into a loop.
