Greta Gerwig’s very first time working with filmmaker Noah Baumbach is a textured and darkly funny dramedy. Starring Ben Stiller and Rhys Ifans.
After a spell in a mental health facility, Roger Greenberg returns to Los Angeles to house-sit for his brother and to wrestle with his mid-life crisis. While he reconnects with old friends, he finds himself more drawn to his brother’s assistant, Florence. In her bigger-budget breakout role, Gerwig is a perfect foil to Stiller, ultimately stealing the show as the optimistic and charming Florence. Her performance was nominated for Gotham and Independent Spirit awards.
