Film Africa, the Royal African Society’s film festival, enters its third year from 1st to 11th November, 2013.

The festival continues to expose new images of Africa: wealthy, global and dynamic; still full of challenges, but brimming with confidence. This year’s talented filmmakers use drama, comedy, shorts, and family films to explore the stories of challenges and triumphs of Africans, living both in Africa and abroad.

Jahmil X.T. Qubeka, a young South African visionary and director of the darkly thrilling opening night film Of Good Report; Mahamat-Saleh Haroun, the Chadian master whose delightful Grisgris will bring the festival to a close; Mati Diop, niece of famed director Djibril Diop Mambety, whose sensual experimental films prove that she’s learnt a thing or two from her legendary uncle, and Cameroonian Jean-Pierre Bekolo, whose films are renowned for their searching intelligence are just a few of the brilliant filmmakers whose work will be featured at this year’s festival.
