East End Film Festival heads over to Oval Space for the world premiere of Pas De Deux, a brand new live commission from Luke Abbott, Dan Tombs and Lucy Suggate.
Friday 24th June will see Oval Space transformed into a hotbed of psych cinema as Luke maverick electronic musician Luke Abbott performs a live reinterpretation of Norman McLaren’s Pas De Deux, with visuals from Dan Tombs (Jon Hopkins, Fuck Buttons), a live soundtrack to animated sci fi classic Fantastic Planet from ATP's JC Flowers, and a live 'Interference' DJ set from The Quietus' John Doran and Lone Taxidermist, with music until the early hours.
A true cross-arts spectacular, the night features live dance, manipulated reprojections and a semi-improvised drone score.
A spectacular portrayal of dance and movement, with a shimmering soundtrack, it is presented alongside the World Premiere of a series of new artist film commissions.
From 7pm, Oval Space will host the world premiere of Pas De Deux. Then, at 9.30pm, JC Flowers will provide the live soundtrack to Fantastic Planet, and from 11pm The Quietus’ John Doran will play a selection of Middle Eastern, funk, Electro and space bangers.
