Nearly Ninety premiered in NYC on Merce's 90th b-day. A fusion of dance, design, video, lighting & music composed by Led Zep's John Paul Jones, Sonic Youth and Takehisa Kosugi.
A futuristic fusion of dance, design, video, lighting and live music from the master of postmodernism Mr Merce Cunningham.
Originally created for Cunningham's 90th birthday in New York, Nearly Ninety is a testament to the boundless imagination of the late choreographer. Innovative solos, duets and emsemble groupings combined with the companies trademark seamless technical precision push preconceptions about contemporary dance.
With a musical composition by Led Zeppelin's John Paul Jones, indie rockers Sonic Youth and media sound artist Takehisa Kosugi, the Cunnigham Company take the audience back to a dance era dominated by thier founder.
