Matthew Bourne's Cinderella fizzes with contemporary quirk, while set in the full nostalgia of 1940s Blitz London. Full of hearty spirit and joyous skip!

Running from 30 Nov to 23 January 2011. Read the Review written by Fiona Campbell here.

Performed by Sadlers Wells resident company, New Adventures, Bourne’s reworking of the fairytale favourite takes the audience on a journey back to World War Two London. Romance blossoms when Cinders meets her Prince Charming, a dapper RAF pilot. However, tragedy soon strikes when the wartime lovers are prematurely torn apart by the Blitz.

Featuring Prokofiev's original score for the 1948 ballet, the show has been specially created to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Blitz.
