As part of Dance Umbrella’s mission to celebrate 21st century choreography, iconoclastic ice skaters, Le Patin Libre come to London’s famous Alexandra Palace.
In this specially commissioned double bill, the five-strong collective of prize-winning skaters share their signature mix of movement, wit, speed and grace, creating a new kind of ice dancing.
Having started out performing on frozen ponds and canals in their hometown of Montreal, the company now come to London to present a full-length evening of work. In influences the performers play with how our body language can influence others, even with just a casual glance. In the second piece Vertical, audiences are invited to view the artists up close, with seating on the ice (dress warmly...).
