East London’s cult radio station London Fields Radio is setting sail on the Hackney high seas to uncover the weirdest and wonderfullest sounds from around the globe.
Join their crew of oddball presenters on the last Thursday of every month as they cause their usual sonic havoc, fuelled by the bar’s banging mix of sliders, hot dogs and cocktails. This month, just in time for Halloween, they’re journeying from Hackney to Haiti for a party that’s freaky like voodoo and shakes it like a zulu. Captains of the ship, the nautically knowledgeable London Fields Radio hosts Smooth Sailing kick off with yacht rock and tropical vibes, before Duncan DeMorgan (Shore Leave/Gypsy Hotel) racks up the knots with his crates of freaky tiki, exotica and wild tittyshakers.
Meanwhile, Horton Jupiter (Mystic Rock/The Thing) conjures the spirits using his potent mix of voodoo disco, psychedelia and hypno-house, and there are special guests poised to tempt you onto the dancefloor till well past the witching hour. You’ll choke up your burgers, we promise.
