Our friends at The Other Woman kick off the New Year with a discussion about women in media - and just how horrendously underrepresented they are. Based on Kira Cochrane's research for The Guardian which was published at the end of year, they went straight to the horses mouth and invited Kira to the Betsey Trotwood pub in east London to break it all down. It's doom and gloom stats-wise BUT there is hope for women in radio especially with the launch of Sound Women in 2011. They catch up with journalist and broadcaster Miranda Sawyer who explains why it needs to exist and what it aims to achieve. Then they have musical tips for 2012 from The Girls Are editor Annette Barlow and of course Stef Schadenfreude has a rant about all the showbiz trash that's rocking her world
