Arctic Circle Radio: The Hut edition 55 and Daylight Music Podcast 9

Arctic Circle Radio is described by the Guardian as ‘both a surprise and a delight’, this week we are thrilled to feature two wonderful and eclectic podcasts:

Firstly, the heart meltingly beautiful edition 55 of The Hut: A weekly velvety soft sonic celebration, The Hut is a refuge, a cocoon of the finest in new music, spinning a warm glow from the outer-reaches of the snowy wastelands. Presented and produced by Ben Eshmade (with additional sounds and magic from Sone Institute), the Hut is a one-hour transmission from an intensely beautiful musical world.  Ft. music from Lightships, Van Dyke Parks, Cate Le Bon, Shoeb Ahmad, Emma Gatrill and Erland Dahlen.

Secondly, Arctic Circle Radio presents a series of podcasts looking at the free weekly Daylight Music events taking place at the Union Chapel in Islington. Taking place most Saturday lunchtimes from 12-2pm each Daylight showcases 3 diverse acts, recent performances have ranged from looped flute and suitcase to harp based singers, big choirs and cello quartets.

This ninth edition features live recordings from Dollboy, Jetsam, Enderby’s Room, Oliver Ralfe and The Robot Heart – all captured at the Chapel during our 2011 programme. In addition we feature a live session and interview with previous Daylight Music participant Jess Bryant.
