Workshop: Creating multichannel and 3D sound art for visual artists, sound artists and musician

This 2-day course is aimed at artists who are interested in producing work using multiple loudspeakers to create immersive three dimensional aural environments. You will learn technics for multichannel audio diffusion, compositional strategies, field and close-mic recording techniques, spatialisation and diffusion, ambisonics, psychoacoustics, installation practice.
Each participant will create a new multi-channel piece from scratch using the support of the tutor.
All the sessions will take place in and around the C&R gallery space in Deptford and all work created will be premiered using our in-house 13.1 channel 3D system.
About the tutor:
Matt Lewis is co-founder of C&R a regularly commissioned sound artist whose teaching experience includes work for organisations and institutions including SouthLondon Gallery, LCC, Central St Martins, Peer, Heart n Soul and FRE
Areas covered:
No previous audio editing/recording experience necessary.
Each participant should bring a laptop with audio editing software: Reaper, Logic, Ableton, Audacity etc. and a pair of headphones.
