Vacancy for Administrator: Transforming the Egyptian Museum, The British Museum
Part time: 3 days per week
Fixed term: 2 years in duration
Salary: £21,831 per annum pro-rata

The British Museum is part of the consortium of European museums that will participate in Transforming the Egyptian Museum (funded by the EU Delegation in Egypt), a project to support the Ministry of Antiquities in improving displays in the Egyptian Museum (Cairo), and to shape aspects of the future strategy of the Museum. The consortium comprises the Museo Egizio Turin, Ägyptisches Museum und Papyrussammlung Berlin, Musée du Louvre, Rijksmuseum von Oudheden Leiden and the British Museum.
The British Museum are seeking a London-based Administrator to provide administrative support for the British Museum areas of the project including reporting, liaising with specialists, administering finances and logistics (travel, accommodation).
Person specification:
The ideal candidate will have experience of delivering project administration, including liaising with specialists, with experience of working in a museum environment. You will be IT literate with proficiency in relevant software, specifically spreadsheets and financial reporting systems (e.g. Agresso). Experience of writing reports and administrating budgets is essential.
