TV Opportunity: BBC seek interior designers / stylists
BBC 1 PROGRAMME – LOOKING FOR BUDDING INTERIOR DESIGNERS / STYLISTS
Here's their spiel - from the assistant producer, Joanne Curtis:
Are you passionate about interiors, design and styling – if so the BBC wants to hear from you!
BBC 1 are planning a new TV series about contemporary interior design, styling and interiors. The series will be along similar lines to The Apprentice but will involve aspiring interior designers competing against each other to re-style properties and interiors. The candidates will be mentored by a well-known industry figure.
The series will bring fashion and interior styling to a prime-time BBC 1 audience. We’ll get candidates working in real-life situations, working to client briefs etc. In the way that The Apprentice and Dragons Den brought business/economics to a prime-time audience, we are hoping that our format will do the same with interiors. Giving aspiring designers the chance to showcase their talent and capabilities. The eventual winner of the series will get exposure via the series and the opportunity to design a spread in one of the top home styling magazines.
Now, I’m currently up against the clock and I’m trying to find candidates for the series – artistic people who have genuine passion, creativity and a tasteful eye, but for whatever reason are still trying to make their way in the industry.
I’ve got the next couple of days to try and find people who have a genuine passion for design and for creating cool spaces/interiors. We are up against it in the race to find more candidates. As the Producers are keen for us to film some potential entrants next week.
Do you have a genuine passion for design?
Are your designs eye-catching and a little different from the norm?
Do you have photographs to demonstrate your work?
Do you have photographs showing interiors you have created?
Anyone wanting more information about the series can call me on: 020 8225 7467.
Many thanks.
