Sound and Music embedded residency, South London Gallery
In partnership with Sound and Music, the SLG is offering the opportunity for composers to take part in an Embedded residency commencing Spring 2015. The residency is aimed at composers at an early stage in their career, providing a professional development opportunity, offering support and space to explore creative ideas and compositional practice, as well as gaining experience in producing and presenting new work.
Applicants are encouraged to draw upon the SLG’s existing relationships with neighbouring housing estates, schools, institutions and individuals, to explore the sonic properties of the area, or develop responses to shared spaces and experiences found within Camberwell and Peckham.
Lasting approximately 12 months, the successful residency applicant will conceive, develop, produce and deliver one or more new works which engage, celebrate and animate the South London Gallery and its immediate area. They will immerse themselves in the gallery's work and will receive financial support and mentoring throughout the programme.
