Kickstarter Project: Close-Up Film Centre for a Close-Up Cinema
Shoreditch's very own independent film resource centre ' Close-Up' has been presented with an exciting opportunity to create their own cinema and establish a unique film centre in East London, presenting classic, contemporary, documentary, experimental and artists' films. To do this, they need your help to reach their goal of £45,000 by Wed, 2nd July!
A bit About The Cinema:
Close-up will cover will cover the entire history of film as well as auteur cinema and radical new artists' films and videos. Continuing to work closely with film institutions such as the BFI, LUX, Tate Modern, the Whitechapel Gallery and the ICA, they will present the diversity of film culture under one roof. They will also host regular talks, seminars and events, offering a diverse range of critical views to inspire audiences, academics and practitioners alike.
A bit about Close-Up:
Close-Up is the most comprehensive, independent film resource in London. Their library consists of over 18,000 films and books, which can be taken out on loan or viewed on site. their free online archive allows access to thousands of entries related to the moving image and the prestigious film magazine Vertigo. Since 2005 the success of the Library and our regular film screenings has attracted over 13,000 members.
