Kelly Shaw, established in 2011 is a designer women’s wear label. She produces a collection twice yearly, for the Spring / Summer and Autumn / Winter seasons. Her clothes have a voice and make bold statements about the world in which we live.

As she begins work on her new collection, Kelly says:

As the world continues on its speedy quest for modernity I wonder if our brains are adapting. Or are they fighting? If our brains are at war, is it with the world or with ourselves? Common mental illnesses including stress, anxiety, fatigue and low self-esteem are becoming a normal part of the western consciousness. One in four of us will feel disconnected from the world around us at some point. We must then ask ourselves if it’s time to sloooow waaaaaay doooooown and take time to reflect on what we are, who we are and what we really want from life? With the awareness of mental illness throughout the world increasing and its stigma being rewritten we must challenge people’s perceptions. The more we talk about it, the more we will understand it. This collection is all about breaking free from the daily pressures that we place upon ourselves. Creativity is a mix of imperfections, imagination and exploring even the dustiest corners of our mixed up souls… It’s time to celebrate the individual and fly that freak flag high! This is rebellion in it’s own right. Rebel against the norm and BE YOUR SELF… COME AS YOU ARE.
