Job Opportunity: Publicist, The Corner Shop PR
The Corner Shop is an Arts PR agency based in Covent Garden which works mainly, although not exclusively, with theatre, opera and dance clients in London and across the UK. It is a busy, creative environment throughout the year. The company is looking to appoint a Publicist.
The Candidate:
Is highly accountable
Is confident in decision making
Has relevant experience in Theatre PR
Pays attention to detail and is very well organised
Presents excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Is proficient in Microsoft Office
Has some experience of database management
Main areas of responsibility:
Manage selected accounts of The Corner Shop: lead on campaign planning and coverage generation; report directly to the client; provide regular updates for the directors
Act as ‘team member’ on other key accounts: assist in coverage generation and planning; provide backup to the directors; provide cover for the directors in their absence
Line management of appointed Press Assistant
Management of and attendance at Press Events and Press Nights
Assist in preparing new business pitches
Attendance at regular client meetings

Pay salary and pension (where applicable) on time
Remuneration, benefits and holiday entitlement:
Salary commensurate with experience (£30k - £40k)
Working hours: 9.30am to 6pm but flexibility is required
20 days holiday annually + public holidays + office closures
Responsible to The Directors
3 month probationary period, during which the notice period is two weeks
After three month review the notice period is two months
Annual appraisal thereafter
