Job Opportunity: Fundraiser, Australia & New Zealand Festival of Literature & Arts

The Australia and New Zealand Festival is a charitable arts event launched May 2014 and returning for a second year to London in May 2015. The festival features more than 130 writers, musicians, performers, artists and speakers presenting more than 60 shows, artworks and talks from and about Australia & New Zealand, with a strong international focus. 

Having successfully raised £200k in 2014 through a mixture of government grants, corporate sponsorship and individual donations, the festival is seeking an experienced fundraiser who can build on the festival’s existing relationships and generate new opportunities for raising income.

The key function to drive fundraising, identifying and securing the resources needed to deliver the artistic and educational outreach programmes.

Key functions:

- Raising income from trusts, foundations, private individuals, corporate partners and government agencies

- Working alongside the festival director to identify bespoke income-generating opportunities for specific events programming and festival participants (eg writers, artists, etc)

- Reporting to the Board of Trustees, and working with the festival’s fundraising sub-group to develop and follow-through on opportunities

-Deliver the festival budget

Essential requirements:

- Experience of developing and implementing a fundraising strategy

- A strong track record in securing grants, significant donations and corporate sponsorship and sustaining a portfolio of those relationships

- Experience in budget preparation and monitoring for a festival-based or artistic events project

- Experience of presenting at senior / board level

Desirable:  

- An understanding of Australian and/or New Zealand writers and culture

- Fundraising relationships in either Australia and/or New Zealand are desirable

- Experience of managing a successful crowdfunding campaigns                 

The position has an immediate start. The days/hours worked are flexible but it is envisaged that the project will require on average between 2 to 3 days per week. Fee and / or commission to be negotiated on application.
