Job Opportunity: D&D10 Marketing and Outreach Coordinator

Devoted & Disgruntled 10 Marketing & Outreach Coordinator
£125 per day, part time. 

Improbable are seeking a proactive and passionate freelancer to work on the forthcoming event Devoted & Disgruntled 10, Improbable's annual Open Space event, in late January 2015 at York Hall in Bethnal Green. This is the tenth event of this kind run by Improbable and for the first time Improbable are hoping to give it an international focus and invite people from around the world to join the conversation.

Improbable are seeking an individual with experience of marketing and of the arts sector (ideally the performing arts) to work with Improbable's Open Space Producer and Executive Director to ensure that D&D10 is attended by as many people as possible. They are also seeking to increase the range of people that attend the event, in terms of age, ethnicity and demographics as well as different roles from across the arts sector (for example, more audience members attending). Improbable are looking for someone who is happy to work both within the Improbable team and independently on developing and implementing a marketing and outreach strategy to help us achieve these aims. 

Key responsibilities will include:

- developing a clear strategy for developing the audience of D&D10, in collaboration with Improbable's Executive Director

- developing and implementing a social media strategy, working with Improbable's Administrator on delivery

- arranging PS swaps with other organisations to help promote the event

- overseeing the production of any promotional material

- proactively reaching out to groups of people that are traditionally under-represented at D&D

- proactively reaching out to those who are deaf, disabled and learning disabled and, working with the Open Space Producer, ensure that the event is as accessible as possible

- working with Improbable's Open Space Producer to contact and invite a wide variety of people from within the arts sector

- working with Improbable's Open Space Producer to connect with international arts organisations and practitioners to invite them to attend and promote the event

- having an awareness of this event as part of Devoted & Disgruntled's overall programme, and, where possible, looking at relationships and strategies which might support the programme in the long term

You should:

- be familiar with the UK arts sector, ideally the performing arts sector.

- have experience in developing and implementing a marketing strategy, including reaching out to different communities and audience groups

- be confident with online promotion via social media channels

- enjoy working independently on delivering a project 

- ideally have some experience in communicating with press

- ideally have been to an Open Space event and understand its format

This role will be paid at the rate of £125 per day. This role will require approximately 8 days work across December and January.
