Job Opportunity: Creative Learning Director, Tricycle Theatre

Salary ca. £30k (dependent on experience)

The Tricycle’s Creative Learning programme works to develop the imaginations, aspirations and potential of children and young people in the diverse community of Brent and beyond.  Collaborating with schools and young people, the company uses theatre, drama and film, to create new work that defies cultural boundaries, engages the emotions and investigates the world.  Whether as audiences, writers, performers or producers of new work at the theatre, young people are at the Tricycle’s heart.

Following the successful appointment current Creative Learning Director, Mark Londesborough, to a new role at the RSA, the Tricycle Theatre is seeking a dynamic creative education professional to lead its renowned programme of learning and engagement.

This is a key position within the Tricycle’s senior leadership team, supporting the Artistic Director/CEO by contributing to the Tricycle’s overall strategic development, in particular by leading its creative learning and community engagement strategy.   In addition, the Creative Learning Director is required to translate that strategy into achievable action plans for the Creative Learning Department. This includes ensuring that creative learning is fully integrated with the Tricycle’s artistic vision and programme; developing appropriate partnerships and collaborations; advocating the work of the department and ensuring the delivery of the highest quality learning programmes.

The right candidate will have a passion for creative and cultural learning and engagement, as well as for education in the broadest sense.  Proactively engaging with a range of stakeholders, s/he will be able to articulate a compelling vision for the unique contribution the Tricycle’s Creative Learning programme can make in a rapidly changing educational, social and economic landscape.
