This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented development professional to work strategically and creatively to deliver increased support for the much loved Dulwich Picture Galley.
Dulwich Picture Gallery houses one oftheworld's most important collections of European old master paintings of the 1600s and 1700s. The paintings arehoused inthefirst purpose-built art gallery in England, designed by Sir John Soane in1811.
The Gallery is in the final phase of its ‘Picture Our Future’ Campaign having raised an impressive £16.5million towards a target of £20 million. The Director of Development will play a key role in completing the campaign and creating strategies to develop new initiatives to increase support for the exhibition programme and operating fund.
To be successful in this role you will need a proven track record in raising funds from individuals, including major donors and trusts or foundations and have highly developed communication and interpersonal skills. You are just as skilled at soliciting and closing gifts as you are at facilitating others to do so. It is essential that you have experience of leading and nurturing a development team. Ideally these experiences will have been gained in the cultural sector.
You will have a demonstrable empathy and interest in the visual arts and it is vital that you can demonstrate your ability to work creatively and effectively with a small team resource.
