Hands On London Launches Wrap Up London 2012

For the second year running, Hands On London is launching its coat collection campaign Wrap Up London.

From 5 to 9 November, it is calling on Londoners to rummage through their wardrobes and donate their gently used winter cover-ups at convenient locations across the capital, including offices, community groups and storage depots as well as eight central London tube stations during morning rush hour.

Wrap Up London 2011 was the first time that the London Underground allowed a charity to host a coat collection at their stations and this year the campaign is once again being carried out in partnership with them but this year it aims to collect 10,000 coats to keep at risk Londoners warm during the winter months.

Wrap Up London 2012 is 5 – 9 November; collections will take place at tube stations on Wednesday 7, Thursday 8 and Friday 9 November between 7am and 11am. ·

Coat collections taking place at 8 tube stations: Kings Cross, Paddington, Victoria, Waterloo, Charing Cross, London Bridge, Liverpool Street, Canary Wharf. ·

Coats can also be donated between Monday 5 and Saturday 17 November at the following Safestore storage centres: Clapham and Kings Cross.

The Notting Hill branch will also be open to donations between Monday 5 and Friday 16 November.

Coats can also be donated at the Broadgate Welcome Centre on weekdays between Monday 5 and Friday 16 November.
