Gallery Assistant, Jerwood Visual Arts
Jerwood Visual Arts is a contemporary gallery programme hosted at Jerwood Space and on tour nationally. It aims to find, nurture and promote exceptional emerging artists, makers, designers and curators, often working in partnership to commission and exhibit their work. It is supported by a world-class series of selectors, judges and panel members, and last year presented six main exhibitions with works by 92 artists, including 22 new commissions. In 2014, visits to Jerwood Visual Arts exhibitions in London and on tour were more than 59,000. The Jerwood Visual Arts programme is a collaboration between and a major initiative of Jerwood Charitable Foundation and Jerwood Space.
This post is responsible for providing an outstanding visitor experience and for supporting the Jerwood Visual Arts events and exhibitions programme at Jerwood Space by:
Providing excellent visitor services on the gallery desk.
Working as part of the installation team on installing and de-installing exhibitions.
Assisting with the marketing of the programme.
It would suit someone with strong communications skills and who is interested in working flexibly to experience and make an active contribution to the range of roles and responsibilities which are involved in realising an ambitious exhibition programme of new work.
