The Floating Cinema is on the hunt for twelve ‘Extra-Ordinary’ EastLondoners
The Floating Cinema, a unique floating structure designed by Duggan Morris Architects, is on the hunt for twelve ‘Extra-Ordinary’ EastLondoners to give their personal East End tour live on board the boat on 24 August 2013.
The twelve ‘Extra-Ordinary’ Londoners selected from entrants to the ‘My East London’ competition, will form part of a floating tour broadcast live on the Floating Cinema website on 24 August 2013 and featured in a short film.
If you think you could tell us something interesting, funny or personal about East London, then all you have to do is submit a one minute YouTube clip of yourself or someone you know showing a little bit of what you have to offer about East London. Entries should be sent topress@upprojects.com
The Extra-Ordinary events programme, devised by Hackney based artists Nina Pope and Karen Guthrie (Somewhere.org.uk), will spotlight the overlooked and ordinary in everyday life and bring to the fore the brilliance to be found on our doorstep.
The brand new vessel will host a 10 week programme of over 20 events from intimate on board screenings, large scale outdoor films for bank side audiences; plusfloating tours of the waterways, talks, and an education project working with local communities. UP Projects’ new Floating Cinema is supported by The Legacy List and their corporate partner Bloomberg as part of Bloomberg East in partnership with Canal & River Trust.
