Fish Island Labs - A Creative Platform from the Barbican and The Trampery
The Barbican and workspace innovators The Trampery have joined forces to create Fish Island Labs, a unique new centre to kickstart the careers of a new generation of emerging talent spanning technology and the arts.
The programme will provide a full incubator package: bespoke mentoring, workshops, and given the involvement of the Barbican, regular opportunities to showcase new work there too. There will also be events which provide practical advice for local artists, and the building will be the new home for the Curious Festival, which brings students from Guildhall and Central Saint Martins together with younger residents from across east London.
£10,000 of bursaries are available for talented individuals or groups who wouldn’t be able to participate without support. Members will need to contribute to the cost of the programme though every effort has been made to keep these as affordable as possible. It's not free though as desk space is £180 and a studio is £400 per month.
So if you think Fish Island Labs could help you develop your work we’d love to hear from you. Just fill in the short application below. The deadline is 11pm on Monday 2 June. Applicants will be selected during the first week of June. Fifteen places will be prioritised for Hackney Wick and Fish Island residents .
