Call Out for New Writers: Commissioned Residencies
Doggerland wishes to expand its voice, opinion, position and style on artist-led activity and contemporary visual arts culture, by inviting aspiring or emerging writers to contribute to their research, with the opportunity to have your work published and distributed across the UK.
Doggerland are interested in receiving submissions that deal with current issues facing independent artistic activity within the UK, which may take shape in any form of socio-political, economical, personal, historical, (anti) academic argument or commentary.
They are offering a series of writing residencies, each of which includes a fee between £100 - £300, for a new piece of writing that is between 750 - 3000 words, based on the response and format of the commissioned work.
The resident writers will also have their work published in a new series of Doggerland journals, which will be distributed to many of the artist-led projects currently operating around the UK.
If you are interested in this opportunity, please submit a previous piece of your own writing (published or not), which feels relevant to the call out in some way, and a 100-word proposal outlining the area, aspect, concept, or project you would like to focus on during the writing residency.
Submissions and enquiries: contact@doggerland.info
Deadline: 11:59pm, Sunday 22nd November 2015
