Cafe Oto: Promoters' and Artists' Fund
Cafe Oto are launching their Promoters and Artists Fund to support the creation and delivery of new live events with UK-based musicians.
The fund is made possible through support from the Jerwood Charitable Foundation.
They are making an open call for proposals. From these, they will identify four projects to support with a grant of £1500. Recipients will also get free use of the venue and support with promotion.
These events could be of any description: a one-off live performance, short festival, new commission, residency, series of events or any other format.
They are interested in hearing from individuals and groups from across the UK from small independent promoters to artists who have no past experience in programming events.
Decisions will be made based on the strength of the idea that you wish to present. They are also particularly interested in hearing from artists, scenes and collectives that appear underrepresented at present both within our own programme and beyond.
Deadline for applications: Wednesday 1 May 2013
What they are offering:
• £1500 towards event costs
• 100% of ticket income from events
• free use of the venue and all Café Oto’s equipment for up to four evenings per proposal
• support with promotion, publicity and delivery
What they need from you:
• a one page outline of the project explaining who/what will be involved and why you feel this is deserving of support
• links to work by artists taking part
• a budget for the project (please include the £1500 grant and also projected ticket income)
Please note all artists involved must be UK-based.
Please send applications to promotersandartistsfund@otoprojects.org
