Artist Commission from Clod Ensemble
Clod Ensemble is holding an open call for submissions to lead a participatory arts project as part of our Extravagant Acts for mature people programme. This is a fantastic commission for an artist working in any media to create an innovative and engaging arts project for elders aged 65 to 100.
Extravagant Acts for Mature People is Clod Ensemble’s programme of free arts events for over 65s delivered in day care centres in London. From workshops with guest artists in video, dance and photography to full scale concerts, Extravagant Acts for Mature People brings excellent artists and the highest production values to audiences with the least access to the arts.
The project will enable participants to explore their creativity, to socialise with each other, staff and the project team, and to build self-confidence and skills. The artist will work with the group to create an artistic end product which is shared with the wider community in Camden, challenging perceptions of older people. We want the artist leading the project to be inspired by working with the participants, and to be bold in their ambitions.
Working with the Extravagant Acts Producer the artist will:
• Develop and deliver a 10-week project with participants in The Millman Street Resource Centre.
• Create an artistic end product or outcome that can be shared with the participants and further afield (as part of a local festival, art gallery, or to a group of invited guests etc.).
• Contribute to the recording and gathering of information and documentation for evaluating the project.
Fee and Budget
- 10 week participatory arts project at the Millman Street Resource Centre, to include planning, meetings, delivery of 10 x 1.5 hour sessions and delivery of the artwork that the project culminates in - £2,500
- A production budget of £750 is available to the artist.
